Joe Purvis presented a program on Made Whole doctrine in Workers Compensation for The Arkansas Bar Association in Hot Springs, AR on June 12, 2008. Joe Purvis is a regular speaker on Workers Compensation Law topics. Michael O. Parker presented an Advanced Sales and Use Tax program for Lorman Education Services in Little Rock, AR on May 21, 2008. The Chief Counsel of the Arkansas Department of Finance and Administration also participated in the program. Michael Parker is a regular speaker on state and local tax topics. Recent programs have included Arkansas Property Taxes, Sales and Use Tax for Manufacturers, Introduction to Sales and Use Taxes, and Sales and Use Tax for Contractors. Michael O. Parker presented a program on Sales and Use Tax for Manufacturers for National Business Institute in Little Rock, AR on September 26, 2008. Other recent programs have included Arkansas Property Taxes, Introduction to Sales and Use Taxes, Advanced Sales and Use Tax, and Sales and Use Tax for Contractor. John Peace was recently named the 2008 National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA) William H. Van Rensselar Public Service Award Winner. The award recognizes someone who has contributed to the development of a new program or the improvement of a current program for the boards of accountancy, or who has influenced passage of rules or statues to strengthen accountancy regulations.
